Job Title                            PROGRAM MANAGER


Purpose of Role:             To plan and oversee all aspects of a program, and to meet the project’s goals (measuring, reporting and driving action to ensure critical success factors are achieved).  It will require you to organise people, tasks and resources to bring about a successful conclusion.  It is both internal and external facing. You will be a main point of contact for our Customers, responsible for the management of sales and relationship with particular customer(s).  Additionally, you will lead/participate in Continuous Improvements projects throughout the business and contribute in achieving organizational goals and objectives.


Reporting To Customer & Programs Manager
Working pattern Monday – Friday, Day shifts, back shift, hours per week, flexi, etc.?
Location WPE premises Glasgow, any other as required
Key Responsibilities ·       Primary responsibility for selected customer(s) and/or program(s)

o   Managing customer communication related to orders

o   Leading customer review meetings (including senior level)

o   Managing, prioritising and supporting customer backlog to meet OTD

o   Project management of key contracts


·       Drive profitability of customer account and/or program by driving performance against target on:

o   Product/Project profitability

o   WIP management

o   Accounts Receivable (inc credit control checks)

o   OTD

o   Quality


·       Performing contract reviews to ensure all relevant information is in place, ensuring that contract KPIs are clearly defined upfront and subsequently taking responsibility for delivery of those targets


·       Drive improvement within customer programs

o   Lead and/or facilitate continuous improvement activities to increase project success

o   Support project management to cross functional activity required for program execution

o   Support implementation of LEAN tools and philosophies at a commercial level

o   Ensure Change Requests are documented and costs are recovered where possible

o   Highlight areas throughout the business where cost improvements can increase customer/project profitability


·       Reporting on key customer metrics with action plans for improvement where required and ensuring timely escalation where necessary


·       Ensure awareness of customer roadmap and identify sales growth opportunities to feed into WPE strategic plans

·       Any other as required

Qualifications & Experience Levels ·       Degree qualified, ideally BSc

·       5+ years previous experience in a project/product/program management role

·       Recognized Lean/Six Sigma based qualification, and/or formal engineering qualification, and/or strong production experience would be advantageous

·       Experience of defense, aerospace or telecoms business is preferable

·       Project Management or Change Management qualification is desirable

·       Solid financial awareness

·       No criminal history
